reading for — and about — the road

Cycling in JapanMost of us who love two-wheeled personal transportation, be it motor- or human-powered, have an unending curiosity about the experiences of other riders who crave the road. So we seek out the writings of those who ride: the once-in-a-lifetime adventurers, the inveterate world travelers, even those who find road-related pleasures within a few miles of home. Alas, such books are often not easily discovered. The market is a modest one, and biking stories are not big revenue-generators at the local bookshops.

The goal of this Web site, then, is to provide a convenient source of information about literature pertaining to both motorcycles and bicycles. Not so much the "how to" books, but rather those that address the "what", the "where", and the "who". And from that — ultimately — the "why".

So use the buttons on the left to navigate your way to the writings that most interest you. And enjoy the ride!
